White 6th Dan Judo Senior Coach
Roland
White started Judo in 1974 as a 15 year old school boy. He trained at the Sobell Judo Club under the instruction of Alan W
Fromm. In 1975 at the age of 16 years old he gained his first 1st Dan blakbelt. By 1977 at the age of 18 years he acheived
the grade of 3rd Dan blackbelt. Ten years later in 1986 he became the Alan Fromm most senior graded student when he was graded
to 4th Dan. In 2010 he was awarded his 6th Dan grade by the British Judo Council.
He is a former British Judo
Council International and National champion and has vast amount of contest experiance. He has won medals at
both International and National level.
He is a BJC Level 2 Coach, a qualified Area Referee and a BJC Area
Grading Assessor.
Gavin Van Niekerk 1st Dan Assistant Intructor.
Gavin started his judo at the Highgate Judo Club in 2005 and has entered several competitions including the 2007 BJC
national grade competition where he won a silver medal. He is a BJC Level 1 Coach.
